About Chest Implants

The silicone implant itself is soft, flexible, and durable. It is placed directly beneath your pectoral muscle. Solid silicone is safe, reliable, and durable. The incision is in the axilla (i.e.) armpit. The incision is hidden in the fold of the axilla.

Are there stitches to be removed?

Generally no. Stitches are applied internally and they dissolve themselves.

What kind of anaesthesia?

A light general anaesthesia is preferred.

How long do I stay in the day hospital?

The procedure takes about 1 – 1½ hours to do and you would remain another 4 hours or so before you can go home accompanied by someone.

How long I will be laid off after surgery?

Generally 2 weeks are advised.

Will I have to wear a special binder?

Yes, you would need to wear a corset. This could be worn for about 4 to 6 weeks to set the implants.
